Ideal hard case, March 24, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Pelican 1600 Case with Foam for Camera (Black) (Electronics) This is an ideal pelican case for my use. I package 15" Thinkpad laptops in here with a small switch underneath. Additionally I fit a decent size block of electronic devices (about 6" square by 12" long) for a very neat way to package and travel safely.
The foam inside the case is four layers. The egg-crate foam in the top lid. A bottom solid lining layer of foam (about 1") and two ~2" layers of perforated foam where you can cut out spaces for your items to fit. This could easily fit a nice SLR camera and two or three lenses; A camera and a laptop; etc.
