These are power hungry so make sure you are pushing these with a deck with at least 20watts RMS or better yet an amp rated at their wattage. These and other speakers work best after their proper 50 hour break-in period. They get less "pitchy" on the high's and the mid's and low's become less "muddy" as the hours wear on. Especially the tweeters, whew! They scream out of the box and killed my ears. Also as the hours wore on I gradually adjusted the 8kHz range up though which is a good thing for clarity. I prefer my music to not be peaky but we all have different tastes. I wouldn't trade this in for any other speaker in this price range though. Keepers! Rockford quality what else can I say besides the higher priced Fosgate's are obviously better sounding but.....the price again.

Great speakers. Completely flawless with subs. Excllent by themselves. Not much bass in them, but flawless high and mids. Fit my 92' jeep cherokee perfect. Excellent speakers, nice price.

I installed 4 of these in my boat. I was worried about the size because when I measured the distance between the holes (diameter) for the screws on my boat they were 5 1/2" apart. I wasn't exactly sure what size of speaker was right. I ordered these and they fit perfectly. The grills that come with it are the kind that screw into the car/boat along with the speaker, they are not the snap-on kind. This works great for me since it can get pretty bumpy on the boat and the snap-in kind tend to pop off. I hooked these up to a lower end Sony deck with no amp. Be sure to play with the settings on the deck because I was disappointed in the sound at first. After adjusting the settings on the deck though, these sound great. If you are expecting these to sound like a $3,000 stereo system you will be disappointed. But if you are like most normal people and don't have that kind of money to spend on speakers then these work great and do the job much better than a stock speaker.
