Ultrafit Review, January 14, 2012 By This review is from: Polk Audio UltraFit 3000 Headphones - Black (ULTRAFIT 3000BLK) (Electronics) After trying literally everything to get my Bose earbuds to stay in my ear, I have resorted to running and riding my road bike with the Bose earbuds taped in my ear. Yes it was a sight, but they sounded terrific.
After seeing an ad for the Polk Ultrafit 3000 headphones I asked for a pair for my birthday. I almost sent them back, but decided that it had to be something wrong with what I was doing. Initially they constantly fell out, sound quality was poor and overall I was just not happy.
Then I read the directions (token male). So READ THE DIRECTIONS. What a difference. There is an art to getting these to work amazingly well. Try ALL the ear pieces, try different ear pieces for each ear and don't worry if you have different ear pieces for each ear. Once fitted correctly, the sound quality is terrific. Next step, in the directions, learning how to put them on. Four simple steps and if followed, they will not fall out.
Polk has a history and... Read more

Best sports headphone EVER! Period!, December 1, 2011 By This review is from: Polk Audio UltraFit 3000 Headphones - Black (ULTRAFIT 3000BLK) (Electronics) I've used several different types of earphones over my years of exercising. None really fit or felt perfect. The closest thing I had to perfect were a pair of Shure E2C, which I think were more geared to professional musicians than athletes. They sounded pretty good, but were brittle. Man do the UltraFit 3000s break the barrier! They are extremely comfortable and rugged. They are also sweat-proof. The biggest problem, if you can call it that, is that you cannot hear ANYTHING around you when installed correctly in your ear. They are some of the best sound-isolating earphones I've ever tried! It may be great for the gym/treadmill, but add moving vehicles to the mix and ourdoor runners may have a little problem on their hands... just keep the volume low so you can be aware of your surroundings.
I highly recommend these earphones for the gym-goer. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

Make sure you try all the ear tips (and maybe try a little "burn-in" time)!, February 29, 2012 By eman (Ann Arbor, MI USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Polk Audio UltraFit 3000 Headphones - Black (ULTRAFIT 3000BLK) (Electronics) Like other reviews, I was initially disappointed with the UltraFit 3000's. There was bass present, but it was in the background, and seemed almost dissociated from the rest of the music. I listened for an hour or so, tried different sizes of the silicone ear tips, and starting to think about returning
Then I did 2 things: 1. Left them playing on my ipod for about 4 hours while I went to do some chores (I have heard of "burning in" headphones and, though skeptical, decided to give it a try). 2. When I returned, I tried the "memory foam" tips. It was a revelation! I'm not sure what made the difference ("burn-in" or ear tips), but it was truly startling. Deep, rich, full sound that blows my old Klipsch Custom 2's out of the water. Absolutely stellar sound.
The fit is great. I have them primarily for running/working out. They stay put and feel great: no ear fatigue at all. Be sure (like others have said) to glance at the simple instructions for putting them on; it... Read more
